If you are dealing with the topic of online safety with any students over the age of 8, here is a terrific way to focus their thinking – plan and prepare a poster or video entry to the Trend Micro “What’s Your Story?” Internet Safety Competition. This intitiative is part of Trend Micro’s support for education worldwide, and the Cork office is growing the competition in Ireland. Working on this project in class gives teachers a great opportunity for learning about the reality of students’ online lives, and affords an ideal chance to host a reasoned argument about digital citizenship issues. The prizes are a great incentive – but the learning value alone is worth it! Closing date for upload of entries is April 21st.
