Deirdre Hodson

Deirdre works in the European Commission’s department for Education, Youth, Sports and Culture in Brussels. For the past five years she has been responsible for digital education and was on the team drafting the Commission’s Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027). She also worked with the Commission’s Joint Research Centre to create the free online SELFIE tool to help schools review how they are using technology for teaching and learning. Deirdre is currently working on a number of projects related to teacher digital competence and Education for Sustainable Development. Deirdre is also a student on the MSc programme on Digital Education with the University of Edinburgh. Her research focus is on computer science curricula in school education. Deirdre studied at Trinity College Dublin, Institut d’Etudes Politiques, Grenoble and the College of Europe, Bruges.
