ClassDojo is a an online service for managing and rewarding positive behaviours in school. It is in use by teachers across the world to encourage and reward positive interactions, collaboration, hard work and other soft skills in their students.
As part of their effort to interact with their users, ClassDojo have been reaching out to Irish educators. Ciara Brennan and I have become the Community Leads for Ireland and there are a number of ClassDojo ambassadors. There are also two simple ways for all teachers to engage other ClassDojo users, ask questions and share their ideas.
The first is to take part in the weekly Twitter chat, #dojochatEU. As the name suggests, this chat is primarily aimed at European users of ClassDojo, but it frequently attracts teachers from further afield. Just sign into Twitter between 20:30 and 21:30 GMT every Wednesday evening and tweet using the hashtag above to take part.
Secondly, if you’re on Facebook, why not join the ClassDojo Ireland Community? You’ll find other Irish teachers there willing to share their ideas and some innovative ways to use ClassDojo in your own practice.
ClassDojo also visited Dublin to host a “Happy Hour” in The Long Hall in Dublin back in January. Keep an eye on the #dojochatEU feed over the coming months for details on any future events!
So if you’re not yet using ClassDojo, why not sign up now and see what it’s all about? If you’re already using it, join in on Twitter and Facebook and let us know how.
