Conference 2013

The annual conference of the Computers in Education Society of Ireland will take place in Galway on February 22nd and 23rd, 2013. The theme for this year's conference is CESI 4.0: Back to our Future. This is a very special conference in the story of CESI: it's our 40th birthday, and we're going back to the place where it all started: Galway.

The CESI conference is a calendar highlight for those who are interested in integrating technology in teaching and learning and this year promises to uphold the high standard that has been set by previous CESI events. You can view some of the highlights from previous year's conferences in the videos below. You can also view the programme for last year's conference here and see some photos from Conference 2012 here.

CESI has promoted the use of ICT in education at all levels in the Irish Education System since 1973. It is a voluntary organisation that draws its members from primary, post primary and third level teachers, as well as other organisations engaged in the development in the use of ICT in education in Ireland. The CESI conference is generously supported by Teachers Professional Networks (http://www.tpnetworks.ie) and PDST Technology in Education (formerly NCTE) (http://www.ncte.ie).

Friday February 22nd 2013, 7pm - 9pm

The starter event (CESImeet) on the Friday evening in the Clayton Hotel will be an opportunity to pick up new ideas and network with other educators in a relaxed environment. Stay tuned to the CESI website, CESI mailing list and CESI Twitter account (@cesitweets) for further details and a call for presenters.

Saturday February 23rd 2013, 9am - 4.30pm

On Saturday 23rd we move to the beautiful Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT) campus. The blend of talks, workshops, vendors and networking opportunities which has proven so popular in previous years will again be a feature of conference 2013.
