Using Digital Portfolios to support Formative Assessment

Presented by: Siobhan O'Sullivan & Sinead O'Sullivan

One of the indicators of success in the 2018 Digital Strategy Action Plan is that “all students have a digital portfolio (ePorfolio) with self-created content across the entire curriculum and a recognised capacity in discerning the ethical use of digital technologies”.

To date, over sixty post-primary schools throughout Ireland have participated in the PDST ePortfolio Initiative with sixty more due to commence in February 2019. In this session, we will explore the rationale for and benefits of using Digital Portfolios. Using data gathered over two phases of this initiative, we will share key learning gained for successful implementation of Digital Portfolios in schools.
