The Challenges of Computer Science in the Irish Primary School

Presented by: Brendan Goggin

I would propose to discuss the challenges facing computer science/coding in the primary school. These challenges would include inspiring and supporting teachers to take on coding and the pressure of the curriculum and the timetable. I would also plan to discuss the training of teachers correctly in the basics of computational thinking rather than how to achieve ‘bells and whistles’ on the screen.
