Two years ago, Coláiste Chiaráin was chosen to pilot the new Junior Certificate. As part of the programme I developed a short course in computer science. In this presentation I will be discussing how the course was practically implemented, the kind of activities engaged in and the resources used. I will be discussing feedback from parents and students on the course.
Presenter Biography:
Conor Power is the ICT coordinator and teacher of ICT, History and CSPE at Coláiste Chiaráin, Limerick. He has a particular interest in the development of computer science as a subject at second level. He has experience teaching ICT in the UK. His other interests center on oSource software and resources in Education and 1 to 1 technology programmes. Qualifications: BA (UL) MSc (UL) PGDE (SMU, U Wales).
