While much talk on the move to 1:1 deployments with tablet PCs focuses on the apps and their role in the classroom, the ‘meat and drink’ of any 1:1 deployment is workflow. Making this process paperless is a much-dreamed-of aspiration of teachers waiting in a queue at the photocopier (which has just run out of toner!). However, creating the most efficient workflow process requires consideration and standardisation across a school. Google Apps for Education and the ‘gClassFolders’ script will be presented as a considered, effective and simple system to achieve the goal of paperless workflow. The session will look at structuring paperless workflow and show how the gClassFolders script can be used to speed up and standardise the process across a school.
