Open Textbooks, Open Pedagogy

Presented by: Bea de los Arcos

Are you worried about the price of textbooks? Do you feel trapped using a textbook that doesn’t ‘speak’ to your students? Are you tired of downloading information from the textbook into your students’ brains? Open textbooks are different from traditional textbooks in that they have been funded, published, and licensed to be freely used, adapted and distributed. In this presentation I’d like to invite participants to explore what all this means, and discuss the potential of using open textbooks in their classrooms.
