Presented by: Taina Lehtimäki, Rosemary Monahan, Aidan Mooney, and Thomas Naughton
Our workshop will show primary and secondary school teachers one approach to introduce computational thinking (CT) into their classrooms. Participants will be given a brief introduction to computational thinking, approaches to teach it, and our role in designing tasks for the international Bebras CT Challenge. Small group break-out rooms will be used to solve Bebras tasks and discuss their suitability in a classroom setting. Afterwards, group work results will collated and analysed in the main discussion room. If time allows, the creation of lesson plans will be discussed. No prior knowledge about CT is needed.
