Google Class – Self directed learning & the Irish Primary Curriculum

Attendees at this session will learn about how Google Classroom is used to provide students with opportunities for 21st century skills development within the Irish Primary Curriculum, in line with the ‘Digital Learning Framework’ and the ‘Looking at our schools 2016’ standards of highly effective practice.

The presenter will demonstrate how the affordances of Google Classroom can be leveraged by teachers to plan, implement and review teaching and learning activities which support students to develop self-directed learning skills and create enhanced learning environments between students and parents/guardians.

The attendees at this session will have the opportunity to experience learning using the artefact through BYOD. The attendees at this session will be provided with information on how to set up Google classroom and how to adapt if for the teaching and learning of the Irish Primary Curriculum in line with 21st Century Skills development

Primary school teaching principal in a four class multi-grade setting.

Ph.D. Candidate researching teachers’ beliefs about their educational use of technology.
