Eyrecourt Examiner to the World!!

Story – The Eyrecourt Examiner is a newspaper produced by 5th & 6th Class, St. Brendan’s NS, Eyrecourt. The paper started as a free newsletter to parents and in September 2013 became a newspaper selling in local shops. This presentation guides participants through the process of setting up a newspaper, structuring a writing team and sharing the editing process. The newspaper has progressed from Microsoft based software (word, publisher) to free web based applications (google docs, drive, lucidpress) and the merits of these will be discussed. Twitter and weebly are used to widen the newspapers’ audience and their use will also be explored. Attendees will also get a free copy of the Eyrecourt Examiner!

Presenter Biography:

Éilis is a teaching principal in St. Brendan’s NS, Eyrecourt, Co. Galway. Always with an interest in ICT she is a member of CESI since 2008. She holds an MA in Digital Media Development for Education, and tutors for PDST “ICT in the Junior Classroom”.
