Exploring Ethics through Interactive Games Creation

Presented by: Kate Delaney and Siobhán Clancy

We will host a hands-on workshop in interactive games creation to demonstrate a effective way of facilitating conversation with children and young people on ethical issues relevant to their age. Games that deal with themes like bullying, self image or dating offer effective entry points to discussions about issues like power, justice, identity and sexual health. Through your participation, we invite educators to assess how a more socially responsible approach to S.T.E.A.M.-based education is possible. This workshop demonstrates an advanced application of Makey Makey combined with Scratch (an entry level programming software).
