Developing Computational Thinking Skills Using Lego We Do 2.0

Presented by: Frank Ó Tormaigh

For this session I propose to use the Lego Innovation Studio in DCU / St. Patrick’s College to demonstrate to primary teachers how they can use Lego We Do 2.0 materials to develop Computational Thinking skills such as abstraction, decomposition, problem solving, coding and collaboration.

The session will involve a short presentation followed by a hands on workshop where teachers will get a chance to build and programme a robot using the Lego materials and iPads. Working in pairs the participants will see how practical the materials are and also get an experience in coding. All materials, including iPads, will be made available for participants.
