Creativity in Computer Science Education at Senior Cycle

The Senior Cycle Key Skills Framework has developed 5 key skills, one of which is Critical and Creative Thinking. Aligned with this, the Senior Cycle Computer Science specification embeds the senior cycle keys.

This presentation discusses creativity in computer science education using the design thinking process. The use of design thinking for fostering creativity and how you could incorporate it into our post-primary computer science classroom will be demonstrated

Presenter Biography:

Gemma is a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Applied Physics at Galway Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT.) She teaches several courses on programming and security to computing undergraduate students. Gemma recently completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning and is currently undertaking a PhD at NUI Galway in the area of creativity in computer science education.
