This is a wprkshop (45 mins): Have you ever wondered why teaching ethical principles feels overwhelming, or seem dull to your students? Generative AI presents new ethical hurdles and navigating these essential life lessons can be a challenge. In this session we will introduce Code Tales, a learner focused resource built to overcome the challenges in teaching meta-skills.
The session identifies one key ethical principle and its application to an emerging technology through story-telling, unplugged board-game style activity and coding digital artefacts with popular tools. In this session, we shall explore the concept of honesty in the digital age, relating it to the story of “The Fox and the Crow” and understand the importance of truthfulness when exploring social media.

Nitin Gamhir is a Mentor, Teacher, Engineer & Tech Enthusiast as well as Director-Global Operations at STEM Education Metaverse. With over 20 years of industry experience and a passion for teaching, on the path to enriching STEM education for the entire K-12 through learn-by-doing experiences & making it accessible across socio-economic and gender divides. Organically transformed from a competent professional into a self-taught Entrepreneur while successfully teaching CS full-time for the last 7 years. Ms. Priyanka Srivastava has over 20 years of experience as Project Lead-Structural Engineering and has worked with global corporations such as Bechtel Inc, US. Currently she is working with the PM Group in Dublin as Lead Engineer. She has been actively teaching STEM Computer Sciences programs as a volunteer, to young girls as she is very passionate about empowering women in tech and has taught more than a 1000+ secondary students over the last 6 years. She was also awarded the Teacher Excellence Award 2022 by the App-Inventor Foundation run by MIT.
