Story – Looking at how digitised data and collections is going to change the way we look at the teaching of history, at what skills historians will need in the future, and at how digital portals like Europeana and the Digital Public Library of America will become the front line tools for teaching.
John is a History & ICT teacher, and has worked on one of the earliest digital history projects in Ireland – the digitization of the Irish parliamentary debates. He is Europe Community Rep for the Digital Public Library of America, and is active in the Europeana Network. He has worked on a number of digital history projects with the Centre of History and New Media, George Mason University, on the Sea of Liberty website and with the Imperial War Museum on the Roger Freeman collection.
