ICT Primary Guidelines
'Information and Communications Technology in the Primary School Curriculum: Guidelines for teachers' The Primary School Curriculum, 1999, presented a view of learning that was centred on the child and provides a framework for the child's learning with a focus on the development of the child's knowledge, skills, and attitudes. It included an increased emphasis on active learning methodologies, problem solving, differentiated learning, collaboration and communication skills, and the development of higher order thinking skills. The forthcoming publication Information and Communications Technology in the Primary School Curriculum: Guidelines for teachers was developed to support the integration of ICT in teaching and learning. It includes a range of practical exemplars based on teachers' practice in classrooms around the country.
