Bloomin’ eTwinning! : Integrating innovative Technologies to enhance Creative Learning
eTwinning is an initiative of the European Commission that provides teachers with a simple, effective framework for ‘twinning’ with schools throughout Europe. Flexibility, variety and creativity are at the core of eTwinning which results in opportunities to use ICT in new and exciting ways. Teachers and children can explore themes across the curriculum and share learning dynamically.
This presentation explores how a simple eTwin project ‘The Digital Garden’ is being used with children aged 5 to 12 years, across a number of countries. Within the context of a story, the project takes the children to a ‘new world’ and captures their imaginations through the use of ICT. The cross-curricular design of this project, along with the use of innovative technologies, shows how teaching and learning can be effectively enhanced through eTwinning.
