Teachnet's Learning Blog

Presented by:
Pat Brennan & John Hurley

‘By teachers, for teachers’

TeachNet Ireland supports primary and post-primary teachers in publishing interactive curriculum content on the web. Now in its eighth year, there are over 250 teacher created resources published onsite. Teachers are given access to curriculum resources, technical support, ICT advice and technical specialists, grants and a support network where they can further develop their skills.

This year Web 2.0 tools have become a major focus of the TeachNet project. With the support of a team of innovative educators a new Learning Blog has been developed, focusing on practical ICT resources for teachers. Currently we publish two new blog posts weekly and broadcast a podcast every two weeks. The TeachNet site is now attracting visitors from all over the world creating a growing community of 21st century learners. This session will demonstrate how TeachNet is using blogs and podcasts to open up new opportunities for teachers.
