Digital Literacy in Irish Primary Schools (DLIPS) - Lessons from the classroom
This session will present the results of a year long research project examining digital literacy in Irish Primary schools. The goals of this research were to develop and test a framework to conceptualise digital literacy in primary schools and to investigate digital media practices in schools in the Digital Hub area. During our presentation we will talk about our newly developed framework and ask participants to reflect on their own experiences and to contribute to on-going discussions regarding digital literacy and how it might impact on fostering 21 Century literacy skills.
This project is lead by National College of Ireland in conjunction with the Digital Hub Development Agency and the Educational Research Centre, Drumcondra. This research is funded by the Department of Education and Science.
