This presentation will run twice and will look at the progress made and lessons learned by the schools in this pilot project. Three brands of boards (Promethean, Cambridge-Hitachi and SMART) have been used by the eight schools. The project has been made possible by the generous sponsorship of the Irish Computer Society, and is managed on a day-to-day basis by David Kearney.

Presenter Bio: 

David Kearney began his teaching career in 1978. He obtained his first qualification in the use of ICTs in the classroom in 1981. He has taught Computer Studies modules and has used ICT in Maths. He is an NCTE Tutor and has delivered many ICT courses to Teachers. Since September 1999, David has been seconded as ICT Advisor to Drumcondra Education Centre. Through this work, and its relations with NCTE, David has a knowledge of a range of classrooms and schools, an the ICT issues they face.
