Blogs and Podcasts: ICT in your Pocket
This session is designed to show how easy it can be to use blogs and podcasts to engage your pupils in real and meaningful language learning tasks in the 21st Century. Drawing from a range of practical examples, you will see the potential of harnessing technologies such as social networking sites, mp3 players and mobile phones to channel your pupils creativity and allow them to personalise their learning by giving them access to tailored resources whenever and wherever they want. You will also find out how blogging and podcasting can help your department to moderate standards in writing and speaking across the age range, create assessment for learning opportunities and offer your examination candidates distance learning materials they can use to revise away from the classroom in their own time. The session is aimed at any modern languages teacher interested in using ICT to enhance their pupils language learning experience from primary to secondary level and beyond.
